URBAN FOOD HUB FOR 2020 ACSA STEEL COMPETITION

Steel Hydro-Farm provides a place for people to enjoy sustainable shopping in one of the projects three shops, savor farm-to-table meals in one of three restaurants or enjoy a cooking class. Steel Hydro-Farm is located in Downtown Los Angeles. This collaborative space uses modern soil-free farming techniques to create a farm-to-table experience in the middle of the city. The project goal is to use a light steel structure to create a space to produce plants and vegetation on site to run the shops, restaurants, and classes provided within its walls. The structure is designed to maximize preservation of green space surrounding the building.
